VINANSIA.COM - President Joko Widodo inaugurated the groundbreaking of the Australia Independent School (AIS) in Indonesia's new capital, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. AIS has committed an investment of IDR 150 billion to build an international school in East Kalimantan.

The project is set to offer top-tier education, from preschool to high school, equipped with modern facilities. President Jokowi underscored the symbolic importance of this investment, hoping it will pave the way for more international investments in Nusantara's development. The school’s presence is seen as a crucial step in enhancing the new capital's global standing.

During the ceremony, President Jokowi highlighted the significance of AIS as the first major foreign investment in the new capital, describing it as a crucial step in attracting more global investors to Nusantara’s development. "This project not only brings high-quality education to Nusantara but also symbolizes our commitment to building a world-class capital that can attract foreign investment," Jokowi stated.

AIS will include a range of modern facilities such as international-standard classrooms, sports amenities, and recreational areas, setting a benchmark for future educational projects in the region. The school’s presence is anticipated to strengthen Nusantara's appeal as a global city, helping to boost investor confidence in Indonesia's ambitious capital city project.
