Andrinof Chaniago Criticizes 190-Year Land Use Rights in Nusantara

VINANSIA.COM - Andrinof Chaniago, who served as the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) from October 2014 to August 2015, has criticized the government's decision to grant Land Use Rights (HGU) in the new capital city Nusantara for up to 190 years.

Andrinof views this decision as a mistake. He believes that investors will naturally come as the development of Nusantara progresses. Therefore, the government's focus should be on completing the Core Government Area (KIPP) first.

At the same time, Andrinof also considers that President Jokowi’s directive to attract a substantial flow of investment to Nusantara at this stage is unlikely to be realized.

“Unless the investment involves hospitals, schools, supermarkets, or recreational parks for civil servants, it is not logical to expect investors to commit Rp50 trillion at this point. I’m sorry, but it’s not logical,” he asserted.
