Jokowi Appoints Gus Ipul as Minister of Social Affairs

VINANSIA.COM - Secretary-General of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU), Saifullah Yusuf, also known as Gus Ipul, has been officially appointed as Minister of Social Affairs. 

Gus Ipul replaces Tri Rismaharini, who stepped down after registering as a candidate for Governor of East Java. The inauguration took place at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, with President Joko Widodo leading the ceremony.

The event was attended by Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto. Also present were Head of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Mahendra Siregar and Head of the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) Purbawa Yudhi Sadewa.
