VINANSIA.COM - An earthquake measuring 4.9 struck Bandung and Garut on Wednesday morning at 9:41 AM, resulting in numerous injuries and extensive property damage. According to Hadi Rahmat, a spokesperson for BPBD West Java, the impact has been assessed in 10 villages across 5 sub-districts in Bandung and 11 villages in 3 sub-districts in Garut.
As of 2 PM, reports indicate that 82 people have sustained injuries, with 700 homes damaged, displacing approximately 450 residents. In Bandung, 491 homes, 5 healthcare facilities, and various educational and religious structures have been affected, while Garut reported 209 damaged homes. Injured individuals are receiving treatment at Bedas Kertasari Hospital and local health clinics, with evacuation efforts underway at Kertasari’s community field.
