VINANSIA.COM - The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) Bandung, EV-READY, and the Indonesian Smart City Providers Association (APSCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate smart city development. The event took place at the Golden Flower Ballroom Hotel in Bandung.

The MoU signing was represented by Ir. H. M. Shobirin F Hamid, SE., A.T., M.M., Vice Chairman of KADIN Bandung for Finance, and Wisnu Ajie, CEO of EV-READY.

In his speech, Shobirin expressed hopes that this collaboration, fully supported by the private sector, could speed up Bandung's transformation into a smart city.

"We hope that through the collaboration between KADIN, EV-READY, and other institutions, with accelerated infrastructure and superstructure development supported by the private sector, Bandung can quickly become a smart city," he said.

Additionally, EV-READY signed an MoU with Satoshi 21, a global startup incubator and Web3 project, represented by Melissa Kurtcan.

This partnership aims to support innovation and investment in smart and eco-friendly technologies by connecting startups with global investors.

Melissa Kurtcan highlighted the importance of incubation programs in attracting investment for AI, blockchain, and green technology startups to support smart city development.

Raine Renaldi, President of EV-READY, emphasized the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders to speed up smart city implementation.

"We need to involve many parties such as KADIN, city governments, startups, and investors to accelerate the smart city initiative," Raine said.

Prof. Mulyo Widodo, ITB Professor and Co-Founder of EV-READY, provided insights on "Sustainable and Green Public Transportation in Smart Cities," highlighting the importance of integrating green technology.

Meanwhile, Renaldi from the West Java Communications & Information Department, replacing the absent Herman Suryatman, presented "Smart City Vision in West Java," emphasizing the province's commitment to leveraging technology to improve public services.

ISCAF2024 aims to accelerate smart city development in Indonesia, supporting the national vision to create 100 smart cities by 2045 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.

The event served as a platform for startups, investors, and stakeholders to collaborate and share insights on the future of technology and urbanization in Indonesia.

Various interactive workshops and pitching sessions for startups were also part of the event, providing opportunities for innovators to present their ideas to investors and industry experts.

The main goal is to facilitate collaboration and accelerate the adoption of new technologies in the smart city context.

The success of ISCAF2024 marks a step forward in Indonesia’s journey towards more advanced and sustainable smart cities.

With closer collaboration, Indonesia is expected to become a pioneer in smart city development in Southeast Asia.
