VINANSIA.COM - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has addressed concerns about the pace of the development of Nusantara, the new capital city.
He rejected the idea that the project is being rushed or is working under tight deadlines. Instead, Jokowi emphasized that the construction is following a well-established plan.
Jokowi responded to recent reports about technical issues, such as leaks in the drinking water systems.
He pointed out that such problems are normal in large-scale projects and not unusual.
"This type of technical issue is common in major projects. It’s not just a one-off problem. We're dealing with a huge project that might take 10, 15, or even 20 years to complete, not something that can be finished in just one or two years," Jokowi explained during a press conference at the Presidential Palace in Nusantara on Monday, July 29, 2024.
