Vinansia.com - Cimahi Police revealed that there were 87 cases of sexual violence against women and children throughout 2024.
In the report, the importance of the role of parents to prevent an increase in these cases was emphasized.
The latest case surfaced when an 11-year-old child from Cihampelas District, West Bandung Regency, was victimized. Two suspects, who are the victim's biological grandparents, have now been named as suspects.
Responding to this situation, Garda Siliwangi Cimahi immediately responded by providing assistance to victims who were still minors.
The general chairman of Garda Siliwangi DPC Cimahi City, M. Firaldi Akbar, stated that his party had responded quickly to the case and provided assistance to the victim.
"We will provide educational scholarships and psychological assistance to victims." Kang Aldi said when contacted.
Garda Siliwangi Secretary, Aldo, emphasized that this assistance will be sustainable.
He also emphasized the importance of psychological assistance to restore the mental health of victims.
Aldo noted that this incident must be taken seriously so that it does not become a bigger problem.
"The victim comes from a broken home family, where her parents are divorced and her mother works as a female laborer (TKW)," he said.
Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of Garda Siliwangi, Randy Rinaldo, expressed his concern about the principal's suggestion to ask the victim to resign from school.
"This is not the right solution. We need to provide concrete support so that the victim can continue her education," said Randy.
He hopes that the local government can be more active in providing counseling and support to victims and their families, so that similar incidents do not recur in the future.
"We expect the local government of West Bandung Regency to provide support and assistance to victims," he said.
It is known that Garda Siliwangi is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) engaged in the social humanitarian field and is always responsive to various problems in the West Java region.
