VINANSIA.COM - Sultan Baktiar Najamudin, born on May 11, 1979, in Bengkulu, Indonesia, has been elected as the Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) for the 2024-2029 period. His election came after a closely fought process in which his leadership team, comprising GKR Hemas, Yorrys Raweyai, and Tamsil Linrung as vice chairpersons, secured 95 votes, defeating the team of La Nyalla Mattalitti.
Before his recent appointment, Sultan Najamudin served as the Third Deputy Chairman of the DPD RI. He first entered politics in 2009 when he was elected as a DPD RI member representing Bengkulu. Over the years, Sultan diversified his ventures, and today he is known for his role in the arms and explosives industry, as well as the national gas cylinder distribution sector.
