VINANSIA.COM - Land acquisition stands as a crucial aspect in the nation's new capital (IKN) construction process.
The government has undertaken various measures to ensure that the land acquisition process respects the rights of affected residents.
In July 2024, the East Kalimantan Provincial Government and the IKN Authority conducted socialization on Social and Community Impact Management (PDSK) for several infrastructure projects within the IKN area.
PDSK aims to address social impacts arising from the land acquisition process, including resettlement of residents and environmental changes.
However, challenges in land acquisition for IKN are not entirely resolved. Acting Head of the Ibu Kota Nusantara Authority (OIKN), Basuki Hadimuljono, acknowledged that 2,086 hectares of land remain unresolved.
The current government focus is on resolving problematic land for flood control in Sepaku and sectors 6A and 6B for toll road development.
The government has also revised IKN land acquisition regulations to prevent disadvantaging affected residents.
Acting Regent of Penajam Paser Utara, Makmur Marbun, stated that central government changes ensure affected residents in Sepaku Subdistrict and Sepaku District receive compensation for crops and lands as per President Joko Widodo's directive.
In efforts to uphold residents' rights, the government allocated Rp90 billion for compensation related to land acquisition affected by the IKN project.
Additionally, President Jokowi emphasized the importance of a non-violent land acquisition process for IKN and highlighted community participation in IKN planning.
